It's Summer Time!
Job Openings for the 2019-20 School Year
We have at least three openings for classroom aides next year. This includes opportunities to work with students in reading and math. We are also hiring a volunteer coordinator to help staff a reading tutoring program with 20 regular volunteers. Please contact the office if you are interested. These are great jobs that allow parents to work when their kids are in school and be home when they are home. Jobs will run from 17-20 hours each week. Wages start at just under $11.00 per hour.
That’s a Wrap!
It’s hard to believe that the 2018-19 school year has come to a close. It has been a pleasure working with you all and your amazing children. I am proud of each one of these children and the dedication of our entire faculty to give them a high-quality school experience in a safe and inviting environment. Thank you, parents, for all of your support.
Summer is a great time of renewal for teachers and principals. We are all in need of a healthy break. This job requires so much mental, physical and emotional energy. I’m sure every teacher is ready for some rest and relaxation. Yet, I have no doubt that they will be thinking and planning for next year throughout the next three months. As for me, I’ll be around for the better part of the summer. It is just me, Mr. Ray (our head custodian) and his summer cleaning crew. While I enjoy the peace and quiet to work without interruption, it’s not long before I miss the little voices and the big energy of our students.
My staff and I would like to wish you all a wonderful summer together as families. I hope you make many happy memories. Keep in mind that nothing is more important in your children’s minds than the quality time you spend together. As I have said on more than one occasion, you never know when it will be the last time your son wants to bake cookies with you or the last time your daughter wants to hold your hand while you are walking through the mall. They will do it and then never do it again. Remember that. I will remember that every child in this school is someone’s whole world, your whole world. My goal is to always work hard enough to honor that sentiment. Have a great summer!
