Annual Mathathon Fundraiser

We are excited to announce our annual Math-A-Thon Fundraiser.  Not only will students be actively engaged in academic work to increase math skills and to prepare for end-of-year testing, but we will also be working as a community to support our school.

The money earned from this fundraiser will be used to purchase additional technology resources for classrooms, as well as help fund field trips.

A kick-off event for students will be held on Monday, April 8th.  Your student will been given instructions and pledge envelopes that day.  They are encouraged to gather pledges from family and friends based on the amount of math problems they get correct on the Math-A-Thon test.  The pledges can be of any amount, from $.01 to $100! The actual Math-A-Thon will be held from April 15th-19th.

The students in grades K-5 will complete 100 math problems appropriate for their grade level during the week. Every child will have the opportunity to correct any mistakes before turning in the assignments, allowing all students to achieve 100%.  Students will collect their pledges and return them to school no later than April 26th.

To add incentive to the fundraiser, students will receive prizes for participation.  All students who complete the 100 math problems will receive a prize for participating.  Additional prizes will be awarded for collecting pledges at the $10.00, $30.00, $50.00, and $75.00 levels.  A field trip to Classic Fun Center will be the grand prize. This will be awarded to the 50 students who collect the most in pledge money.

We need volunteers in every class to help correct student work. I will provide teachers with a Sign-Up Genius link to send out to the families in their class.  Watch for this in over the next couple of weeks and please sign up to lend a hand.  As usual, all volunteers must complete volunteer registration on the Canyons School District webpage.
