New First Grade Teacher
We have hired a new 1st Grade teacher for the English classroom in our Dual Immersion program. Her name is Shannon Brown. Although she is teaching the English classroom, Ms. Brown speaks fluent French and will graduate with an endorsement to teach the target language in a French Dual Immersion classroom. We are intrigued about the potential benefits and collaboration opportunities having two French speakers in our 1st grade next year. Rest assured, her focus is teaching English Language Arts. The benefits will come in her ability to connect content area vocabulary. The bottom line is that she is a high-quality teacher that we are excited to have join our team at Butler.
Now Seeking Interest for Butler PTA Board Members for the 2019-2020 School Year!
It is time once again for the PTA Nominating Committee to recruit candidates to hold PTA Board positions for next year. We are in search of candidates for all board positions: President/Co-President, President-Elect (aka VP), Secretary, and Treasurer. The goal of the nominating committee is to enlist the talents of as many Butler parents, friends, and family as possible. The nominating committee’s responsibility is to consider all persons interested in a particular PTA position. Send us an email about any positions that you may be interested in fulfilling. You may also wish to recommend someone you think would be an ideal recruit for a particular office.
If you are not interested in a board position at this time, we are always looking for additional help with our various PTA supported school programs and projects. Many hands make light work!
