What is the Bobcat Award?

The Bobcat Award  is granted to students who complete the required tasks for their grade level. Some are to be completed at home.  Many are accomplished as part of the regular curriculum. Students are recognized at a special assembly twice each year.  The Bobcat Award is only granted to students who complete these requirements. For questions about the Bobcat Award, please contact your child’s teacher or the Butler PTA who sponsor this prestigious award.

Complete at least 10 goals from the following options to receive the Bobcat Award.

________Memorizes 20 high-frequency words

In order to receive your Bobcat award, you need to earn 15 of the 18 goals listed below.

_________         No TV, video or computer games for 1 week – read instead

To receive an award, a total of 12 goals must be completed, with at least 3 from each category.

Academic Goals-

_____      Score 100% on five spelling tests

_____       Read at least 20 minutes every day for one full month

_____      Write and illustrate a narrative story telling about an important         event in your life.

_____      Learn about an animal, write a report at home, then bring it to school. 

_____      Complete and turn in at least 15 homework assignments 

_____      Optional Goal- Teacher Approved

Participation Goals- 

_____      Enter the Reflections Contest or other school contest (art, movie, etc)

_____      Attend a contest or competition outside of school

_____      Earn 10 PRRS tickets

_____      Write 10 positive notes to 10 different friends and turn in to                    your teacher

_____      Achieve 100% completion of math facts on ReflexMath

_____      Complete a service project at home    

_____      Optional Goal – Teacher Approved

Personal Goals-

_____      Go 7 straight days without TV and non-educational                               video/computer Games

_____      No more than 5 behavior changes to red all year

_____      Keep your bedroom clean and tidy for one month

_____      Participate in an organized group after school (sports, dance, musical, etc)

_____      Do some form of physical activity for 5 days a week for 1 month

_____      Eat 5 fruits / vegetables everyday for two weeks.
