SCC Minutes
9/4/12
I. Welcome- Carolee Mackay
II. Adam Sidwell Assembly- Assembly is 40 minutes, suggested that upper classes decide if it would be worthwhile for them. Decided lower grades might not benefit from the assembly. Need to check with the district to see if his book Evertaster is approved for students to read. Author wanted to sell books at lunch, decided it would be more appropriate for him to sell after school if students were interested. Decided to offer $150 for the assembly and request that he donate 3 copies of his book to the library. Stacie motioned Amy 2nd.
III. Upcoming events:
Back to School Night- Lisa will be selling Emergency Bags in the Gym. Students will take them directly to their teachers. Stacie will have T-Shirts 3 different logos 3-4 color combos, $10 t-shirts. Will do a second order for Butler apparel in Nov.
Goal to have 100% for teachers in the PTA
PTA meeting Wed. 9:00 am- Teresa will send out a message tonight
Classic Skate night- waiting for $200 from Classic Skating they owe us from last year
Bricks for Kids- starts on 19th. We need to clarify what Christy signed up for, there was confusion between Bricks and Lego league, and Lego robotics. A teacher needs to be there to supervise?
IV. Meeting times: Decided to put info from SCC, agenda, and minutes on website. Need a definition of SCC- What do they do for the school? Will keep meeting time at 3:30 until more people come and we decide to change.
V. Library After School Programs- Could parents help to support Alli Duff to start the library programs before January? Also need to have children sign up for only one activity rather than the same few children getting to go to all the activities.
